No self-respecting country allows a foreign head of state  to promote ethnic unrest and claim jurisdiction  over citizens  and territory of the host country. Yet that is precisely what President Enrique Pena Nieto of Mexico just did in California—and the Republican Party was utterly silent.

And this is not the first time a Mexican president has behaved thusly.

It’s truly amazing what the United States allows Mexican presidents to do and say on on U.S. soil.

In contrast, back in 1967, French President Charles de Gaulle  had to leave  Canada for saying  “Vive le Québec libre! ” in a public speech on Canadian soil.   Canadian Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson strongly defended Canadian sovereignty.  Within a few days, President de Gaulle was on a plane back to France.

In contrast, in  today’s U.S.A., Mexican presidents, and Mexican officials in general, openly meddle in our immigration policy and claim jurisdiction over Mexican-Americans.    Not only do our leaders not condemn such behavior, they actually facilitate it.
