The case against Trump is not the only thing going on in Florida. The Sunshine State is also the scene of an open attempt by the Mexican government to meddle in state politics.
The issue in question is a new law, known as SB 1718 or Chapter No. 2023-40 . Among other things, the law requires employers to use E-Verify and penalizes those who transport illegals into Florida. It is scheduled to go into effect on July 1.
This law was passed by the Florida legislature and signed by Governor Ron DeSantis. You’d think that would be sufficient.
But no, they failed to obtain the approval of the Mexican government. The Mexican government doesn’t like this law, so is going to do what it can to oppose it.
